2. Information and purposes

Visiting the website

Serving a website involves network requests. The hosting service may process technical information such as your IP address, the requested page, request time, browser information and error or security logs. This supports website delivery, fault diagnosis and protection against misuse. Our host is Cloudflare. We keep no visitor logs of our own and do not switch on Cloudflare’s optional request logging.

Making an enquiry

The enquiry form on the contact page asks for your name, email address, optional organization, an optional enquiry category chosen from a fixed list, and your message. These details help us understand and respond to your enquiry and consider scientific or commercial collaboration. The form includes a hidden anti-abuse field. When you press send, your entries go to Web3Forms, which checks them for spam and delivers them to us by email.

If you contact us by email, the correspondence includes your email address, message and any other information you choose to send. An email service may also process delivery and security metadata. Please keep initial enquiries non-confidential and do not include sensitive personal information or unnecessary information about other people.

The website does not offer a mailing-list subscription, and sending an enquiry does not sign you up for marketing. The website does not use visitor profiling or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Lawful bases

  • Enquiries and collaboration discussions: our legitimate interests in communicating with people who contact the company and in considering relevant research and business opportunities.
  • Steps towards an agreement: where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, contractual necessity may apply to the information needed for those steps. This does not automatically apply to every business enquiry.
  • Website delivery and security: our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website, limited to the information needed for that purpose.
  • Legal obligations: where a specific applicable legal duty requires relevant information to be retained or disclosed, that duty may provide the basis for that processing.

The website uses nothing that needs your consent. If that changes, we will ask for consent first and update this policy. There is no consent checkbox or automatic marketing permission attached to the enquiry form.

4. Services, locations and retention

Enquiries are intended for the people at Matter Machine Technologies who need them to consider and respond to your message. Hosting, email and form services may process information to support those activities.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in the law.

Contact the company using the details in section 1 to raise a privacy question or exercise a right. A request may require proportionate checks to establish your identity and the information it concerns.
